The IQAir® CleanRoom H13 is IQAir's most effective air purifier for particulate matter and especially for microbiological control. To allow for maximum air delivery and an extra-long filter life, the system contains an extra-large surface pre-filter and HyperHEPA™ filter and no gas phase filtration. Both the pre-filter and the HyperHEPA™ filter are anti-microbially treated, to kill microorganisms on contact.
The system has been especially designed for use in infection control units, TB isolation rooms, critical particle control, pharmaceutical laboratories controlled environments and CleanRooms up to Class 100. Advanced anti-tampering features prevent the unauthorized opening or disconnection of the system in public areas.
To create positive and negative pressure environments the IQAir® CleanRoom H13 can be combined with the IQAir® InFlow W125 or IQAir® OutFlow W125 accessories.

Each IQAir® CleanRoom H13 system can be used as a recirculation device or it can be combined with IQAir's ducting adapters InFlow W125 or OutFlow W125 to create positive and negative pressure environments. The creation of negative pressure helps to contain harmful particles, such as microorganisms, in a particular area (e.g. TB isolation). The creation of positive pressure helps to protect clean areas from contaminants entering from adjacent rooms (e.g. protective isolation of immuno-compromised patients, controlled environments for medical device manufacturing).
Airborne pathogens in health-care environments pose a particular risk to immunocompromised patients who may inhale fungal spores, bacteria and viruses. Airborne microorganisms can not only complicate recovery from surgery, but can also lead to life-threatening infections,costing health-care services hundreds of millions every year. Hospital-acquired aspergillosis for example has been recognized increasingly as a cause of severe illness and high mortality in immunocompromised individuals, e.g. patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or organ or bone marrow transplants. In the light of the marked increase in nosocomial infections over recent years, many of which are caused by drug-resistant pathogens, the importance of using high-efficiency air filtration systems beyond the confines of so-called 'critical areas' (such as operation theaters) has once again been emphasized. Both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), advise that, wherever possible, preventive infection control measures should be implemented to reduce the risk of nosocomial infections.
Most air purifiers only filter particles larger than 0.3 microns in size. However, 90% of all ultra fine particles present in a home are smaller than 0.3 microns. This means that many air purifiers are only filtering 10% of the total particles in your air. The IQAir® CleanRoom H13 features HyperHEPA™ filtration technology for superior airborne particle removal. IQAir's HyperHEPA™ filtration is tested and certified to filter ultra-fine pollution particles down to 0.003 microns in size with a guaranteed minimum efficiency of over 99.5%. This is 100 times smaller than what is achieved with ordinary air filtration technology and also 10 times smaller than a virus. It is this fact which allows the IQAir® CleanRoom H13 to capture the ultra fine particles that other air purifiers completely miss.
Released in the year 2000, EN 1822 is the world's most advanced and stringent air filter standard for HEPA filters. IQAir's HyperHEPA™ filter elements are currently the world's first filters in an air cleaner to have been type-tested inside the IQAir housing by an independent filter testing laboratory (Filtech Laboratories, Switzerland). Many hospitals, laboratories and high-tech manufacturers, such as Intel®, already require their filter suppliers to supply them with EN 1822 certification. It is this basis for IQAir’s ability to capture up to 100 times more particles than conventional HEPA cleaners. IQAir therefore has the distinction of producing one of the world’s most efficient HEPA air purifiers in its class.
