Allergy sufferers who believe that this season is more severe than others may be onto something - new research suggests that pollen counts have been abnormally high thus far for 2011, according to USA Today.
Pollen is typically carried by insects, such as bees, but wind can sweep the particles from plants as well. Dry weather has contributed to lingering pollen in many regions of the country, and continues to cause irritation for individuals prone to allergic reactions.
"Usually, by this time of the year, the pollen count goes down, and people usually aren't prepared to be dealing with allergies in late May," Joseph Leija, an allergist at Loyola University Health System's Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, told the news source.
Air purifiers are a necessity for individuals suffering from allergies who want to remove irritating particles from the air through a HEPA filter. The IQAir HealthPro Plus may be able to provide relief as well, eliminating allergens from up to 900 square feet of space. Its HyperHEPA filter can remove ultrafine particles smaller than 0.3 microns in size.
The IQAir HealthPro Plus is not only ideal for allergy sufferers, but for individuals suffering from respiratory ailments as well.
