Allergy season expected to last 27 more days this year

Allergy season is dreaded by many Americans who suffer from reactions due to pollen, ragweed and mold. Over-the-counter medications can relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergies, but individuals may have to cope for an extended period of time in the future.

A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences says that allergy season will most likely last until October in northern regions of the United States. This is approximately 27 days longer than previous allergy seasons, as the unusual warm weather has encouraged the distribution of pollen from trees.

Individuals who want to reduce the amount of medication they take to relieve their symptoms may want to purchase an air purifier to remove allergens from their living spaces.

The IQAir HealthPro Plus is ideal for allergy sufferers and individuals with asthma as well. The air purifier can remove bacteria, pollen, dust and mold spores from rooms to help people breathe easier. The HyperHEPA filter is designed to catch ultra fine particles that are smaller than 0.3 microns in size. With the IQAir HealthPro Plus, those with allergies can find relief indoors without the need to take multiple medications.
